Product and Website Links

View as Markdown

Paste a product page or a website link into your message, and the Agent can read the page for you. It collects the facts and files a video needs: product details, brand assets, images, a page screenshot, or video links. You do not need to copy text or download images by hand.

  • Software, app, or website promos. The Agent reads the site, takes the logo, colors, fonts, and images from it, and uses them in the video. Use an App Promo Skill or just ask. See Skills.
  • Product ads. Give a product page link. The Agent picks out the product name, price, selling points, and photos, then writes an ad script. Use a product ad Skill or just ask.
  • Brand consistency. The brand in the video is taken from the real page, not guessed.
  • Reference material. Ask for a full-page screenshot or the video links on a page when you want to show or cite the page.

If you only have photos and no page, upload them instead. If you sell the same product often, save it once in Characters and Products.

What can the Agent collect?

From one page, the Agent can ask for any of these:

What you getWhat it is for
Page text and a summaryThe product name, slogan, features, and call to action
Product detailsName, price, rating, key features, and sizes, when the page lists them
Brand assetsLogo, brand colors, and fonts
ImagesImage links from the page, such as product photos and feature visuals
LinksOther links found on the page
A screenshotThe viewport or the whole scrollable page
Video linksVideo files embedded in the page

The Agent can also wait for a slow page, scroll or click, and read the page as if from another country. It does this when a first read comes back empty.

How do I do it?

  1. Open a project and switch the composer to the Agent.
  2. Paste the link into your message. Say what you are making, its length and platform, and which assets you want.
  3. Send it. The Agent reads the page and tells you what it found.
  4. Check what it picked. For a promo, confirm the logo, colors, fonts, and images. For an ad, confirm the product name, price, selling points, and photos.
  5. Ask for changes before it generates anything. Replace a wrong logo, drop a poor image, or add your own file.

What happens with the results

  • Images and files the Agent selects are saved into your project as assets, so they appear in My Assets and can be used on the timeline or as generation references. Video generation takes project assets, not raw links.
  • A screenshot comes back as a remote picture. The Agent downloads it before it can be added to the project.
  • The brand in a promo is saved as the project’s Design Style, with the colors, fonts, and logo from the page. Later graphics in that project follow it. See Design Styles.
  • A product from a product page can be saved to your account, but only after you agree. See Characters and Products.

Say clearly which parts you want. “Use the page’s real logo” is better than “make a logo”. The Agent is told to use the logo from the page or your upload and not to redraw it with AI.

Prompts you can copy

Prompt

Create a 15-second promo video for example.com. Read the page, take the real logo, brand colors and fonts, and pick three product screenshots. Show me what you found before you generate anything.

Prompt

Make a 15-second 9:16 UGC-style ad for this product page: [product URL]. Pick 3 or 4 photos from different angles, write the script from the page's selling points and price, and show me the script first.

Prompt

Open [page URL] and take a full-page screenshot, then list any video links on the page. Add the screenshot to my project.

Where does this work, and what does it cost?

Reading a page works in the Agent in ChatCut Web, in ChatCut Desktop, and in Claude Code or Codex through the plugin.

Reading a page itself does not use ChatCut credits. The Agent’s messages and any generation you ask for still do. A Claude Code or Codex agent also draws on its own allowance. See Credits.

What are the limits and tips?

  • Some pages block readers. If a page is empty, slow, or blocked, the Agent retries with a longer wait or another country, scrolls to load lazy content, or asks you for screenshots or brand files. A single read times out after about a minute.
  • Choose images with care. The Agent should leave out thumbnails, duplicates, and decoration. For a product, it prefers photos from different angles, so the video model sees more than the front.
  • Check the facts. The script should come from what the page says. Fix any price or claim that is out of date.
  • Check rights and rules. Use pages and images you are allowed to use. Video models can reject recognizable characters, celebrities, and other protected content, and the Agent tells you before it spends effort on them.
  • Use the real files when you have them. If extraction misses the logo or the images are poor, upload your own.
